Stimuheal
As its name suggests, StimuHeal is a company which was formed to develop and produce devices which use particular patterns of electrical stimulation to assist the body’s own mechanisms for healing damaged tissues.
Unlike many other companies producing electrical stimulation devices, StimuHeal does not pretend to provide the answers to a whole range of problems in a single device. A StimuHeal device focuses instead, on a specific problem, which has been shown to be difficult to treat with currently available products. Following in-depth study of the problem, StimuHeal then selects the best possible stimulation profile and equipment to deal with it.
The first of StimuHeal’s products to be released is the MyoSpare device.
This is designed to help prevent the muscle wasting which rapidly follows bone and joint injuries when a limb is immobilized to kick-start the healing process. The stimulation cycle employed enables it to be used for 24 hours a day, seven days a week throughout the treatment period without causing muscle fatigue, and its Duralect electrodes can function effectively underneath a cast, if required.
StimuHeal has other products in development, all directed towards solving the difficult problems other devices might prefer to ignore.
