MyoSpare
Overview
The MyoSpare system minimizes muscle atrophy and muscle spasm, and its innovative design allows for the continuous stimulation of muscles without inducing fatigue. The MyoSpare can be used in all instances when muscle activity is limited, whether due to extended immobilization, injury, surgical procedure or age. The MyoSpare is the only device that can practically operate not only in exposed areas, but also stimulate muscles located under splints, braces, and even protective cast.
The MyoSpare allows the patient to self-adjust the stimulation intensity to his or her individual comfort level. When operating in conjunction with the DuraLect electrodes, the MyoSpare can stimulate muscles continuously over a period of weeks, without the need for intervention by a clinician and without replacing the electrodes.
Treatment with the MyoSpare is non-invasive and safe. The compact, battery-operated device allows for complete mobility, with little, if any, discomfort. The unique design of the biocompatible DuraLect electrodes permits them to be placed, and function effectively underneath a cast, eliminating the need for regular replacement, which typically, is not feasible in such situations.
The MyoSpare is completely safe and can be used by individuals at their home, office or even during their recreation and rest time. The device includes a built-in monitor, which records cumulative treatment time and intensities applied throughout the treatment period.
